This contract position is an on-site role that provides an excellent opportunity to make a significant impact in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
As a Locum MD in Cardiothoracic Surgery, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional patient care, performing surgical procedures, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Your expertise will play a crucial role in advancing the quality of care within our healthcare facilities.
Responsibilities
Perform cardiothoracic surgical procedures with precision and expertise
Conduct pre-operative assessments and consultations
Collaborate with surgical teams and support staff
Monitor patient progress and provide post-operative care
Maintain accurate medical records and documentation
Participate in quality improvement initiatives
Stay current with advancements in cardiothoracic surgery
Provide mentorship and guidance to junior medical staff
Requirements
MD degree from an accredited medical school
Completion of residency in Cardiothoracic Surgery
Active medical license in the state of practice
Previous experience in a cardiothoracic surgery setting preferred
Strong surgical skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
Commitment to patient-centered care and ethical practice
Schedule: 24-hour call shifts (7a-7a), specific dates
Daily Volume: 1-2 surgeries
Case Types: Bypass, mitral valves, aortic valves, pericardial windows, tricuspid valves, etc.
Support Staff: NP
EMR: Epic
Must be board-certified or board-eligible
Paid travel & expenses
