AWS Cloud Architect
The AWS Cloud Architect is responsible for designing, implementing and managing secure, scalable and cost‑effective cloud solutions on Amazon Web Services. This role combines technical expertise with strategic thinking to align cloud architecture with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Design and deploy highly available, fault‑tolerant and scalable applications on AWS using services such as EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, CloudFront, etc.
Plan and execute migration and modernization of multi‑tier applications and legacy systems to AWS cloud environments.
Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and AWS CloudFormation for automated provisioning and configuration.
Apply AWS security best practices, IAM, encryption, security groups and ensure compliance with standards such as GDPR, HIPAA or PCI‑DSS.
Develop strategies for cost control and resource optimization using AWS pricing models and monitoring tools.
Work closely with DevOps and development teams and stakeholders to integrate cloud solutions and mentor team members on AWS best practices.
Set up monitoring, logging and disaster recovery strategies using AWS native tools like CloudWatch and third‑party solutions.
Required Skills
Deep knowledge of AWS services: EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, API Gateway, CloudFront, VPC, Route 53.
Expertise in cloud architecture principles, networking and security.
Hands‑on experience with Terraform, CloudFormation and CI/CD pipelines.
Strong understanding of microservices, serverless architectures and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
Proficiency in scripting languages: Python, Bash for automation.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer.
Experience with hybrid or multi‑cloud environments.
Familiarity with observability tools and performance tuning.
Mandatory Skills
AWS Lambda, AWS S3, AWS Database Service, AWS Infrastructure Services, AWS VPC, AWS ECS, AWS EC2, AWS ELB, CloudWatch.
