Senior Mechanical Engineer – Texas – Industrial Energy
A forward-thinking engineering and infrastructure firm is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support the design, development, and delivery of a first-of-a-kind energy infrastructure project in Texas. This role is ideal for mechanical engineering professionals with experience in EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) environments who excel in creating robust mechanical systems, coordinating across technical disciplines, and solving complex engineering challenges. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will contribute to system design, provide technical guidance during procurement and construction, and ensure safe, efficient, and compliant implementation of mechanical components throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and refine mechanical system designs, specifications, and engineering calculations for complex energy infrastructure projects
Support the creation of mechanical equipment layouts, P&IDs, and technical documentation
Collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering, procurement, construction, and permitting teams to ensure design alignment
Review vendor submittals, equipment packages, and fabrication drawings for technical accuracy and compliance
Provide technical support during construction, commissioning, and startup activities
Identify mechanical risks or design conflicts and recommend mitigation strategies
Ensure mechanical systems meet safety codes, industry standards, and regulatory requirements
Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering workflows, tools, and quality processes
Experience Required
5+ years of mechanical engineering experience in energy, infrastructure, industrial, or EPC project environments
Proven experience with mechanical system design, analysis, and integration across multi-disciplinary projects
Strong familiarity with industry standards (ASME, API, NFPA, etc.) and regulatory frameworks relevant to energy or infrastructure systems
Hands‑on experience with engineering tools such as CAD platforms, simulation software, and mechanical design programs
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across engineering, construction, and vendor teams
Ability to manage technical priorities in dynamic, fast‑paced project environments
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
Professional Engineering (PE) license or progress toward licensure preferred
Experience supporting EPC project delivery models strongly desired
Background working with energy systems, rotating equipment, pressure vessels, or advanced technology deployments is a plus
U.S. citizenship or permanent residency required
