We seek engineers who bring fresh perspectives, thought leadership, vision, and a high sense of ownership, empathy, and disruption.

What You’ll Do:

Help shape the technical architecture of SoFi Money by evolving our BFF (backend for frontend) layer with GraphQL for a unified, scalable API platform.

Deliver highly available and scalable services in a production environment.

Mentor other engineers, support the technical culture, and help grow the team.

Work within and across teams to resolve technical conflicts and achieve consensus.

Communicate and collaborate with product and design.

Generate ideas for new initiatives and technologies.

Lead the development and testing of our systems and services.

Ensure that our codebase remains easy to change and is always shippable.

What You’ll Need:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

8+ years experience as a software engineer, designing and implementing complex software solutions.

Strong experience designing and operating GraphQL services at scale, including schema design, query performance, and contract evolution.

Experience with Java, Spring, Kotlin, DynamoDB, Temporal, and AWS.

Deep understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and best practices for building scalable and robust applications.

Proven experience in leading and mentoring engineering teams, promoting technical excellence and collaboration.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Experience with Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure, Terraform, and CI/CD.

Nice to Have:

Expertise in Fintech, Payments, or Credit Products.

Expertise in analytics, metrics, monitoring integrations, and using data to make decisions.

Test‑driven development with unit and integration testing.

Interest in personal finance.
