Instructor/Assistant Professor – Teaching, Department of Global Supply Chain Management MISB
Wayne State University is searching for an experienced Instructor/Assistant Professor – Teaching, Department of Global Supply Chain Management MISB at its Detroit campus location.

Essential functions (job duties)
Teach 4 undergraduate/graduate supply chain management courses per semester
Manage assessment and student progress using the Learning Management System (Canvas)
Maintain and update curriculum that is current, effective, and appropriate to course and program competencies. Instruct students in a classroom, online, and/or hybrid setting.
Teach courses related to quality and production planning offered in the school’s Undergrad, MBA or M.S. programs. Other classes may include procurement, logistics, operations, ERP systems, supply chain analytics, lean, manufacturing processes, and customs.
Work on the job and internship placement efforts for students by helping with networking and general assistance. May also work on various SCM Program development initiatives.
Serve as an engaged member of the department and the Mike Ilitch School of Business community, taking on service responsibilities in the form of committee roles, taking students to national case competitions, organizing department events such as the GM/WSU Supply Chain Case competition, new student orientation, future supply chain leaders reception, networking events, etc.

Qualifications
Candidates should hold a graduate degree (e.g., MS, MBA, DBA, or PhD). Those with doctoral degrees (PhD or DBA) in Supply Chain Management or related fields will be considered for appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor – Teaching; those with masters degrees will be considered at the rank of Instructor - Teaching.
Desirable education and experience:
Experience in teaching undergraduate, graduate, and executive education
Industry experience, especially in the automotive and other complex manufacturing industries
Experience in mentoring students
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, along with a clear commitment to supporting student learning and development
Skills and knowledge to infuse emerging technologies including Artificial Intelligence (AI) into the curriculum
Involvement in professional or academic organizations (e.g., Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals, Institute for Supply Management, AIAG, MEMA)
Evidence of effective collaboration with industry partners
Experience in advising student organizations
Experience in leading outreach programs
Experience in leading or desire to lead study abroad programs
