$125,000.00/yr - $155,000.00/yr

Private Equity firm with over $100B AUM seeks to recruit an Accounting Manager to be based in Chicago. This role focuses on management corporate-level accounting activities. The ideal candidate has strong technical expertise and a proven ability to lead accounting processes in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. This is a hands‑on role and requires preparation of journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and allocations to various related funds. Strong interpersonal skills are necessary due to the regular interaction with the firm’s staff. Successful candidates will have exceptional written and oral communication capabilities, possess an entrepreneurial spirit, and bring a practical and participatory approach to the role.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
Assist with all aspects of the general ledger for multiple management company entities (including an international entity) including journal entries, expense review, balance sheet reconciliations, and accounts payable.
Support month‑end and quarter‑end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, and intercompany allocations and invoices.
Review monthly expense reports and flight activity for employees to ensure coding accuracy and compliance with firm policy.
Support the preparation of internal management reports, variance analyses, and financial statements for the management companies.
Maintain and improve internal controls, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with US GAAP.
Assist with requests from external auditors, SEC and other service providers.
Assist with various projects and internal requests.
Experience & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, CPA preferred.
5-8 years of experience in accounting, including at least three years in public accounting.
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines with minimal supervision.
Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
Technologically savvy with the ability and desire to master new applications.
Ability to work independently and proactively, prioritize work and meet deadlines.
Flexibility and ability to respond quickly and positively to shifting demands and priorities.
Interest in taking on a challenging, “hands on” role in a collaborative, team‑based culture.
