Required Qualifications Education & Equivalent Experience

Bachelor’s degree or higher in a STEM or related technical/scientific field (e.g. Systems Engineering, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Computer Science, Engineering Management, Information Technology, Management Information Systems).

OR additional equivalent experience:• 4 years of relevant experience with no degree;• OR 2 years of relevant experience with a non‑STEM degree.

Professional Experience

At least 12 years of relevant experience in government or industry. Key experience areas include:• DoD/IC Acquisition Process• Requirements Process• PPBES Process (Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution System)• Systems engineering of large, complex Systems‑of‑Systems or Service‑Oriented Architecture environments (cloud, on‑premise, or hybrid).

Technical Skills & Domain Knowledge

Full understanding of systems engineering lifecycle.

Strong working knowledge of the current National System of Geospatial‑Intelligence (NSG), Allied System of Geospatial‑Intelligence (ASG), and National Reconnaissance Office (NRO).

Past work on NGA (National Geospatial‑Intelligence Agency) and/or NSG/ASG programs or projects.

Experience on IC (Intelligence Community) or DoD (Department of Defense) program/project work.

Security Clearance

Active TS/SCI clearance adjudication or ability to obtain SCI clearance and pass a polygraph.

Preferred / Desired Qualifications Advanced Education & Certifications

Master’s degree in Systems Engineering or a related technical/scientific/STEM field.

INCOSE Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP).

Modern Methods & Tools

Working knowledge of Model‑Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and associated tools.

Understanding of Digital Engineering practices.

Experience with software development environments/methodologies.

Geospatial & Domain‑Specific Skills

Documented work experience in geospatial domains.

Expertise in: photogrammetry, remote sensing, image science, information science, geographic information systems (GIS), geomatics, or related fields.

Professional Engagement & Credentials

Licensure as a professional engineer (or equivalent).

Membership in, or leadership for, professional organizations such as:• ACSM• ASCE• ASPRS• OGC• SAREM• USGIF

As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will lead engineering teams in designing, developing, and integrating complex systems across the National System of Geospatial‑Intelligence (NSG), the Allied System of Geospatial‑Intelligence (ASG), and Federal Agencies. You’ll serve as a technical authority, providing strategic vision and hands‑on guidance across the full system life cycle to deliver accurate and timely GEOINT capabilities.

What You’ll Do

Lead and mentor mid‑ and junior‑level systems engineers in:

Requirements engineering and traceability

Solutions design and architecture

Scheduling, reliability, resiliency, and maintainability

Services development, integration, test & evaluation

Translate mission and user needs into system and capability requirements.

Guide planning and analyses to automate or enhance existing systems; evaluate cloud workflows, service capabilities, and scheduling constraints.

Perform systems integration and drive interface design across multiple subsystems and agencies.

Lead or contribute to:

Analysis of Alternatives (AoAs)

Courses of Action (CoAs)

Trade studies

Engineering assessments

Assist with strategic technical planning, risk management, performance engineering, and project oversight.

Operate across organizational and agency boundaries to integrate systems, services, and processes as part of major systems acquisitions.

Deep technical expertise in systems engineering (requirements, architecture, integration, test)

Leadership experience guiding multidisciplinary teams

Proven track record in large, complex acquisition or development programs

Familiarity with geospatial, intelligence, or national security systems a plus

Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills
