Fund Accountant – Private Investment Firm

About the Firm
A private investment firm focused on founder‑led businesses is seeking a Fund Accountant to join its growing team. The firm partners with owners looking for an institutional platform to help accelerate growth, leveraging deep domain expertise, strategic insight, and operational support. The team invests across technology and business services, including B2B software, industrial technology, managed solutions, and tech‑enabled services, and currently manages a substantial pool of committed capital.
The Opportunity
The Fund Accountant will support financial reporting and day‑to‑day financial operations. This role reports to senior members of the accounting function and works closely with Finance, Legal, and Investor Relations.
What You’ll Do
Support capital distributions, wire processing, redemptions, and expense activity
Assist with quarterly and annual closes, including financial statements, valuations, and supporting schedules
Partner with a third‑party fund administrator to shadow books and records
Prepare quarterly investor reports and supporting schedules
Contribute to analytical projects such as valuation work, comparable analyses, and waterfall modeling
Help collect and monitor financial data from privately held portfolio companies
Maintain documentation in accordance with finance policies
Work directly with external auditors and support year‑end audit and tax schedules
Assist with capital call and distribution allocations and investor notices
Track and prepare audit confirmations and support automation initiatives
What We’re Looking For
CPA preferred
2+ years of accounting experience in private equity, private credit, venture capital, public accounting, or fund administration
Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment
Strong communication skills and comfort working within high‑performance teams
Advanced Excel skills; PowerPoint familiarity
