Senior Principal / Director – Azure Infrastructure As part of Slalom’s Microsoft Cloud Team, you’ll lead within the Azure Infrastructure practice and partner across our six Microsoft solution areas (Microsoft 365, Security, Azure Infrastructure, Digital & App Innovation, Data & AI, and Business Applications). You’ll collaborate closely with Delivery, Sales, Talent Acquisition, and our Microsoft field/partner teams to create client impact while growing a healthy, high‑performing practice community.

What You’ll Do

Practice leadership & strategy: Define the Azure Infra & Security vision, multiyear roadmap, and operating model; create differentiated offerings/accelerators (e.g., enterprise scale landing zones, hybrid connectivity, identity & access, cloud governance, SecOps/MDR, platform SRE, cost optimization/FinOps).

Delivery leadership (executive): Serve as Delivery Lead/Engagement Lead on strategic programs; run steering governance, risk/issue management, and change control; ensure outcomes are realized (velocity, risk reduction, adoption/consumption, TCO).

Solution & advisory: Guide reference architectures for landing zones, network/edge, identity, secrets & key management, observability, backup/DR, compliance automation; champion Zero Trust and secure by design across VMs, containers/AKS, and data plane protections.

GTM & alliances: Partner with Sales and Microsoft to shape demand, qualify/solution pursuits, estimate and author SOWs, and drive co‑sell/funding motions and designations.

People leadership: Build, mentor, and retain a diverse team of Practice Leads, Architects, and Engineers; grow certifications and communities of practice; create clear career paths and a culture of psychological safety and excellence.

Engineering excellence & governance: Establish standards aligned to Azure Well‑Architected; drive IaC (Terraform/Bicep), policy‑as‑code, CI/CD, DevSecOps, and production‑grade runbooks; lead postmortems and continuous improvement.

Zero Legacy & Azure Migration and Modernization (AMM) leadership: Own and scale Slalom’s Zero Legacy initiative and Azure Migration & Modernization motion: establish a migration factory operating model; lead portfolio discovery/assessment and segmentation (6Rs); build business cases and landing‑zone‑first pathways; create wave plans and cutover playbooks; standardize tooling (Azure Migrate, Site Recovery/ASR, Database Migration Service/DMS, Arc, AVS/AVD); drive modernization patterns (containers/AKS, PaaS, serverless) and decommission plans; partner with Data & AI and App Innovation to accelerate value; track consumption/adoption and cost baselines with FinOps.

M&A integration & separation: Lead identity, device, server, infrastructure, and business application migrations for acquisitions/divestitures, including tenant‑to‑tenant (Microsoft Entra ID/Azure AD, Exchange/SharePoint/Teams), domain/DNS and email address consolidation, network integration (vWAN/ExpressRoute), endpoint management (Intune/MECM), server/data migration, coexistence and cutover planning, TSA management, and regulatory/compliance alignment (SOX, HIPAA, PCI, GDPR).

What You’ll Bring

10+ years leading cloud infrastructure and/or security programs; 5+ years in consulting/services leadership with P&L responsibility.

Proven record directing enterprise Azure transformations (landing zones, hybrid network/identity, modernization, SecOps) with measurable business outcomes.

Executive presence with Csuite stakeholders; strong negotiation, storytelling, and change leadership.

Demonstrated leadership of Zero Legacy or equivalent legacy‑remediation initiatives and Azure migration/modernization programs at enterprise scale, including migration factory design, wave planning, coexistence strategies, and post‑cutover stabilization/SRE; hands‑on familiarity with Azure Migrate, ASR, DMS, Arc, AVS/AVD, AKS, and refactor/replatform patterns.

Hands‑on leadership across M&A integrations and separations with Day 0/Day 1/Day 2 planning; executed tenant‑to‑tenant migrations (Entra ID/Azure AD), domain/email changes, device/workstation migrations, server/infrastructure consolidation, and business application cutovers at enterprise scale.

Hands on depth guiding architects in Identity & Access: Microsoft Entra ID, Conditional Access, PIM, hybrid identity, privileged access strategy; Landing Zones & Governance: Azure Policy, RBAC, management groups; Networking & Edge: VNets, vWAN, ExpressRoute, Private Link; Compute/Platform: VMSS, images, autoscale, Arc, AKS, AVD/AVS; Security & SecOps: Defender for Cloud, Sentinel; Observability & Ops: Azure Monitor, Log Analytics; DevSecOps & IaC: GitHub or Azure DevOps, Terraform/Bicep.

Preferred certifications: Azure Solutions Architect Expert; Azure Security Engineer Associate; Cybersecurity Architect Expert; Azure Network Engineer Associate; CISSP/CCSP/CISM; ITIL 4; FinOps Practitioner.

For Senior Principal, the base salary pay range is $140,000 to $258,000. For Director level, the base salary pay range is $161,000 to $307,000. In addition, individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. Salary depends on skills, experience, qualification, location, and other factors.
