The Simon Lab at Fred Hutch seeks a highly skilled Post-Doctoral Research Fellow to define principles for successful adoptive transfer of genetically modified Chimeric TCR T cells, with a focus on engineering synthetic T cell signaling circuits to instruct T cells with optimized functions for cancer therapy.

Responsibilities To drive a project to develop the next generation of highly sensitive and multi-specific T cell receptors for adoptive cell transfer immunotherapies of blood cancers and solid tumors with the goal to prevent relapses in treated patients. The incumbent will lead a project independently while mentoring and directing junior members of the team under the PI's supervision.

Handling projects independently, including literature reviews, experimental design, and data analysis, under the guidance of the laboratory PI.

Contributing to the preparation of research reports, publications, and oral presentations.

Stay current with relevant publications and apply knowledge to research

Compile data and synthesize innovative problem‑solving methods

Collaborate and present data with a wide range of stakeholders and partners

Opportunities for presentations at scientific conferences and symposiums.

Mentor and lead undergraduate and graduate students

Assist with lab maintenance and function

Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

MD and/or a PhD in a biological science with a diverse knowledge of immunology

Proficient in immunology techniques and know‑how

Strong scientific writing skills, ability to write and apply for funding opportunities and abstracts

Able to digest complex material and synthesize innovative ideas

Compile and clearly present data to an eclectic audience, both orally and written

Strong understanding of T cell biology and signaling is required

Demonstrate strong capacities to lead tool and technology development to interrogate biology

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience in gene editing, proteomics and microscopy.

Strong publication record

The annual base salary range for this position is from $77,976 to $95,014, and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications. This position may be eligible for relocation assistance.
