UMass Memorial Health, the premier academic health system in Central Massachusetts and clinical partner of UMass Chan Medical School, is actively recruiting a BE/BC fellowship-trained Foot & Ankle Surgeon to join our nationally recognized Department of Orthopedics and Physical Rehabilitation. This is a true academic faculty role offering protected research time, resident/fellow teaching, and the opportunity to perform 1,100+ surgical cases annually across a Level-1 trauma center and a brand-new ambulatory surgery center.
Foot and Ankle Orthopedic Surgeon | Academic Faculty Position | UMass Chan Medical School | Worcester, MA
High-volume clinical practice with complex tertiary referrals in foot & ankle trauma, reconstruction, total ankle arthroplasty, deformity correction, and sports-related injuries
Academic appointment at UMass Chan Medical School (rank commensurate with experience)
Dedicated research infrastructure with funding opportunities for clinical outcomes, biomechanical studies, and translational projects
Leadership role in growing the Foot & Ankle division alongside 30+ fellowship-trained orthopedic subspecialists
Teach and mentor 40+ orthopedic residents and fellows in an ACGME-accredited program
Call shared equitably with built-in work-life balance
Requirements
MD/DO with ACGME-accredited Orthopedic Surgery residency
Fellowship training in Foot & Ankle Surgery (ACGME or equivalent)
Board Eligible or Board Certified by ABOS
Eligible for unrestricted Massachusetts medical license
Proven interest in academic medicine (research publications, teaching experience preferred)
Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary Range: $400,000 – $450,000 (final offer based on experience, academic rank, and RVU productivity)
wRVU productivity bonus with proven earners >$600K
Sign-on bonus + relocation package

6+ weeks PTO + CME allowance ($5,000 + 1 week)
