Position Overview Leidos is seeking a talented PCMM Technician to join a diverse team that creates unique solutions for complex problems. The role involves inspecting large scale parts at various stages of machining – from first piece to final inspection – utilizing Romer arms, laser trackers, or scanners (handheld or blue light) as well as manual layout techniques. Examples of parts include weldments, integrated assemblies, and tooling. The technician will also document non‑conforming material, provide concise feedback to machinists and engineers based on data collection, and maintain all measurement equipment. Applicants must be able to work in a fast‑paced environment with minimal supervision.

The PCMM Technician position is part of Leidos Defense Systems Sector, which delivers systems, solutions, and services for land, sea, air, space, and cyberspace customers worldwide. The sector focuses on defense solutions such as enterprise IT, intelligence systems, command and control, geospatial analytics, cybersecurity, logistics, training, and intelligence analysis.

Basic Qualifications

Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED with 3-5 years of prior relevant work experience.

Candidates must be fluent with standard measurement equipment, i.e., micrometers, calipers, intra micrometers, optical comparator, etc.

Candidates must have 4 or more years’ experience using Romer Arm, AS1 Scanner, Leica AT960 Laser Tracker, Leica AT402 Laser Tracker, or CMM.

Candidates preferred to have experience with Spatial Analyzer or similar PCMM software.

Candidates must be proficient in GD&T per ASMEY14.5-2009.

Candidates must be able to execute or witness test procedures and generate test reports.

Candidates must have demonstrated experience reading and interpreting drawings, assembly schematics, and specifications and prepare handwritten or computer‑generated inspection reports.

Generate quality documentation including inspection reports, bubble prints, C of C’s, and NCR’s.

Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or be eligible for a Secret Clearance.

Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville‑North Alabama, AL area.

This posting covers multiple opportunities ranging in years of experience. Level of opportunity, including compensation, will be matched to a candidate’s experience.

This is a 2nd shift position.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in inspection of complex aerospace hardware, non‑conforming material, Material Review Board (MRB), review/creation of Acceptance Data Packs / First Article Inspection.

Experience with ISO9001, AS9100 quality systems, AS5553 counterfeit prevention, and AS9102 first article inspection.

Must be able to lift and carry up to 35 pounds.

Pay and Benefits Pay Range: $50,050.00 – $90,475.00. The Leidos pay range is a general guideline only and is not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
