to support a large-scale DHS contract located in
Ashburn, VA
through
100% on-site presence . The
Mobile Application Developer
will design, develop, and maintain secure mobile applications for Android and iOS platforms, implement RESTful APIs, and ensure compliance with CBP security standards for mission‑critical traveler processing systems.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain mobile applications for Android and iOS platforms using Flutter and Dart
Implement and integrate RESTful APIs for backend services supporting mobile applications.
Develop and maintain applications using Java and Node.js for backend functionality
Work with both SQL and NoSQL databases (Postgres, MySQL) to ensure efficient data storage and retrieval
Apply strong application testing practices to ensure reliability and security
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality, secure mobile solutions
Participate in Agile development processes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Troubleshoot and resolve issues promptly, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance
Qualifications
BS/BA degree and 8+ years of prior relevant experience, or Master’s degree with 6+ years of experience; or 4 years of additional experience in lieu of degree
At least 5 years of experience in mobile development for Android and iOS platforms
Flutter experience is a must, including proficiency with Google’s Dart language
Experience in both front‑end mobile development and back‑end RESTful API development
Proficiency in Java and Node.js application development
Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (Postgres, MySQL)
Familiarity with frameworks and tools such as Spring Boot, Kafka, Hibernate, Angular/React (desired)
Strong understanding of software design patterns and Agile methodologies
Experience with issue tracking systems (e.g., Jira) and DevOps frameworks
Excellent problem‑solving skills and communication abilities
U.S. Citizenship required
Ability to obtain and maintain a CBP Background Investigation prior to start
Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range: $100,000 - 120,000 depending on experience
Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k Plan, Holidays, PTO, sick leave as required by law
