Join a high-performing Emergency Medicine team in a well-supported Level III Trauma Center serving the Kennewick and greater Tri‑Cities region. We are seeking a dedicated Emergency Medicine Physician to provide compassionate, evidence‑based care in a dynamic, fast‑paced emergency department.
Schedule 9‑hour shifts: 5:30 AM – 2:30 PM, 1:30 PM – 10:30 PM, 9:00 PM – 6:00 AM
Position Overview
Team Structure: 6+ EM Physicians and 7.5+ EM APPs
Coverage Model: 27 hours/day of physician coverage, 22 hours/day of Advanced Practice Provider coverage
Level III Trauma Center, Annual ED Volume: 24,440
21‑bed Emergency Department, 6 Fast‑Track beds, 14 ICU beds
Admission Rate: 10.8%
Transfer Rate: 1.5%
Imaging & Diagnostics CT in‑house, Ultrasound available, MRI on‑call overnight, Bedside ultrasound utilized by all EM physicians.
Specialty Support Services: Anesthesiology, Internal Medicine, Cardiac Catheterization, Cardiology, OB/GYN, Obstetrics, and Podiatry
Compensation & Benefits Compensation: 1099 rate of $300 per hour. Paid malpractice coverage including tail coverage.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver high‑quality, patient‑centered emergency medical care across a broad range of acute presentations.
Respond to all floor codes, including neonatal resuscitation.
Perform patient evaluations, order and interpret diagnostic studies, and initiate evidence‑based treatment plans.
Utilize bedside ultrasound in alignment with department standards.
Collaborate with EM APPs, hospitalists, specialists, and nursing staff to optimize patient flow and clinical outcomes.
Document all patient encounters accurately and in a timely manner.
Requirements
Completion of an Emergency Medicine‑accredited residency program preferred.
ABEM or AOBEM board‑certified/board‑eligible required.
Internal Medicine or Family Medicine physicians with substantial emergency medicine experience will be considered.
Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS & ATLS.
Ability to thrive in a collaborative, high‑acuity environment.
