Best, that is a wholly owned and independently operated subsidiary of a wider group. With the capability to offer admitted and surplus lines insurance products in 51 states and jurisdictions, the P&C Insurance company partners with program administrators and managing general agents to offer strategic insurance solutions.This role will support the Chief Operating Officer (COO) in overseeing regulatory, compliance, and governance matters across admitted and non-admitted carriers. This role will be responsible for ensuring compliance with state insurance laws and regulations, implementing effective compliance frameworks, and serving as a key point of contact with regulators and rating agencies. Responsibilities:**Regulatory and Compliance Oversight:*** Draft, file, and manage rate, rule, and form filings with state Departments of Insurance (DOIs).* Ensure compliance with admitted and surplus lines reporting, including premium taxes, stamping office submissions, and statutory deadlines.* Oversee market conduct exams, regulatory inquiries, and DOI audits.* Develop, implement, and monitor compliance policies for OFAC, privacy, cyber, and data protection.* Track regulatory developments and advise leadership on emerging compliance risks.**Contracts and Transactions:*** Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including vendor contracts, technology agreements, and NDAs.* Support the COO in the negotiation of Program Administrator Agreements (PAAs), ThirdParty Administrator Agreements (TPAs), and reinsurance agreements as needed.* Enterprise Risk and Reporting o Coordinate with finance, operations, and underwriting on regulatory submissions and disclosures.* Maintain compliance calendars to ensure timely filings of statutory and regulatory reports.* Support development of internal compliance testing and monitoring programs.* Governance and Collaboration* Serve as a liaison to state regulators, auditors, and rating agencies.* Partner with the Corporate-focused Assistant GC on entity governance, M&A, and intercompany agreements.* Provide practical guidance to business leaders on regulatory requirements impacting new programs and products.**Requirements:*** J.D. degree and active bar admission.* 5 – 8 years of experience in P&C insurance, with emphasis on regulatory and compliance matters.* Prior experience at a fronting carrier, reinsurer, MGA/MGU, or regulatory agency strongly preferred.* Strong knowledge of multi-state insurance regulation, including surplus lines and admitted frameworks.* Experience with multi-state DOI regulatory frameworks, including rate/rule/form filings and surplus lines reporting.* Expertise in both admitted and surplus lines frameworks.* Familiarity with market conduct exams, statutory reporting, and surplus lines tax compliance.* Excellent judgment in balancing regulatory risk with business objectives.* Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate complex regulatory issues into actionable guidance.* Highly organized with strong attention to detail and execution.* Understanding of reinsurance and fronting structures a plus.* Compliance certifications (CPCU, CCEP, ARe) a plus.If you are interested please apply directly for a confidential conversation today! #J-18808-Ljbffr
