This position will support DelDOT’s video conferencing applications and infrastructure capabilities. The consultant will need experience and knowledge with Audio Visual systems, including web platforms. DelDOT has conference resources to support small meetings up to department‑wide events. In this role the consultant will produce webinars and Teams meetings, create invites, define panelists, coordinate presentations, and initiate session recordings. The consultant will also work closely with suppliers and DTI to install and configure new conference systems for seamless connection to MS‑Teams, O365, and other platforms such as Webex. When a system malfunctions, the incumbent will analyze, diagnose components, and recommend corrective actions. The position also involves producing DelDOT‑specific documentation, user guides, training materials, and videos to enhance overall experience.
The role supports various aspects of DelDOT’s security applications, hardware, and software environments, including facility access and surveillance systems, digital signage, and visitor management functions. Responsibilities include coordinating and engaging external suppliers for service, ongoing support, and restoration; generating technical communications and configuration requirements; creating service requests for new user access and permission modifications approved by management; documenting assigned network addresses; and collaborating with DTI to re‑segment identified network capacity challenges for future expansion.
The position leads efforts with vendors and DTI to extend the State’s data network into new or renovated DelDOT structures, working closely with DTI staff during buildout. Tasks include determining cable pathways and distances, selecting transmission methods (fiber, Cat6, WiFi, cellular, or leased circuit), coordinating workloads, scheduling with other DelDOT sections, and providing status updates to management. The incumbent ensures required parts are quoted, PO requests submitted, and coordinates delivery, configuration, and installation of network equipment with DTI and suppliers. They also support activities compliant with DelDOT and technology standards by submitting information for ARB network diagrams and firewall rules, and interface with management to resolve application, network, and technology issues.
In this role, the position shares responsibility for producing and maintaining technical and user system documentation, essential for a state of good repair. The incumbent must be proficient across applications, networking, and systems, producing work products such as documents, diagrams, and asset inventories using various tools to enhance operational delivery and training/succession planning.
