Business Analyst / Project Manager - Data Architecture and Modeling
Lenmar Consulting Inc is seeking a Business Analyst to join its growing Data Architecture & Modeling team in New York, NY.
Location: New York Business Unit: Corporate - Data Architecture & Modeling Duration: 12‑Month Contract Rate: $65/hr W2 or $75/hr C2C
Primary Responsibilities
Requirements gathering and documentation
Partner with bankers, COOs, and coverage teams to capture workflows, data needs, and pain points
Document business requirements, process flows, and use cases in clear, actionable formats
Project coordination and execution: track progress across data model projects, ensuring follow‑ups, accountability, and timely delivery
Support data architects and engineers by maintaining backlogs, data catalogs, and business glossaries
Proactively identify risks, dependencies, and blockers; escalate and help resolve
Hands‑On Data Analysis
Query and explore datasets in SQL and Databricks to validate requirements, understand relationships, and check data outputs
Assist in comparing modeled outputs to business needs, flag discrepancies, and support issue resolution
Stakeholder Communication
Serve as liaison between technical teams and business users, ensuring requirements are fully understood and aligned
Provide clear status updates, meeting notes, and documentation to stakeholders and senior management
Specific Qualifications
Experience: 5‑7 years in Business Analysis, Project Management, or a hybrid BA/PM role within financial services, consulting, or data‑heavy environments
Technical / Analytical Skills
Proficiency in SQL (ability to query, join, and analyze relational data)
Familiarity with Databricks or similar data platforms; ability to navigate and validate datasets
Strong ability to understand data concepts and business rules, even if not coding pipelines
Business Knowledge
Prior exposure to investment banking, CRM systems (Salesforce, DealCloud), or data governance highly preferred.
Communication & Execution
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proven ability to interact with senior stakeholders. Highly organized, proactive, and self‑driven, able to manage multiple priorities with minimal oversight.
