Supervises, assesses, plans, coordinates, facilitates, and evaluates patient care and staff development; determines and maintains unit or program needs and standards (using nursing process and evidence-based information). Assumes responsibility and accountability for incorporating the vision, values, mission, and critical goals of the organization into their job performance. Assists the Clinical Director in managing the unit's assigned staff and patient population. Provides direct patient care according to the needs of the unit/program and collaborates with physicians in executing the medical plan of care. All RN staff with direct responsibility for stroke patients must have knowledge of: Stroke symptoms and warning signs Protocols and pathways used to identify, evaluate, and manage stroke patients NIHSS Stroke Alert activation and protocol Stroke quality indicators Available stroke patient education materials and community resources Educational requirements Stroke Center website resources

Responsibilities include overseeing staff, ensuring adequate patient care, hiring, onboarding, evaluating, managing performance, coaching, and developing employees. Ensuring compliance with policies, managing department budget, and maintaining financial integrity. Serve as a resource to staff, patients, families, caregivers, physicians, and visitors to improve patient experience and outcomes. Teach patients and families about managing illnesses, post-treatment care, diet, nutrition, exercise, and medication administration. Promote inter/intra departmental collaboration, participate in policy updates, and contribute to department goals. Assist in recruiting and retaining talented staff, coordinate educational activities, and participate in quality improvement initiatives. Conduct rounds with physicians, patients, and families to facilitate quality care. Use evidence-based practice to evaluate and improve patient care. Direct staff in nursing process application and promote independent functioning among employees. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN, BScN) from an accredited NLN/CCNE institution. Legally licensed to work as a registered nurse in Arizona. Staff responsible for stroke care must meet specific education requirements. Experience

Minimum 2 years of Registered Nurse (RN) experience required. Licenses and Certifications State Licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) or equivalent in a Compact State Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required Must obtain area-specific certification within 1 year of hire or promotion for Magnet standards
