Head of Network Services, Infrastructure Services

Located in our Atlanta office, this senior leadership role is responsible for setting the strategic vision, architecture, and engineering direction of AIG’s global network services as well as end‑to‑end network operations. The Global Head of Network Services will drive a comprehensive multi‑year network transformation initiative, positioning the technology infrastructure to meet evolving business demands, enhance digital experiences, and ensure resilient, high‑performing connectivity globally.
Responsibilities
Define and drive a global network strategy aligned with AIG’s broader technology and business objectives, focusing on cloud enablement, agility, security, and cost optimization.
Lead the planning and execution of a multi‑year network transformation program, shifting the organization toward software‑defined, automated, scalable, and intelligent network platforms.
Champion a “network as a service” mindset, focusing on user experience, seamless access, and measurable outcomes for internal and external stakeholders.
Oversee architecture and engineering for services including DNS, DHCP, ITAM, SD‑WAN, SDDC, Cloud Connectivity, WAN, Voice, Contact Center, NAC/Wireless, and Network Security.
Drive adoption of cloud‑native and hybrid network architectures, supporting scalable and secure connections across public cloud providers and on‑prem environments.
Establish governance and technical standards that ensure resiliency, performance, security, and compliance across all network domains.
Own the holistic network security strategy, ensuring security is embedded across architecture, engineering, and operations—from access controls and segmentation to zero trust and threat detection capabilities.
Partner closely with the Cybersecurity team to align network security controls with enterprise security architecture, regulatory requirements, and threat intelligence.
Lead network transformation programs and engage in initiatives with a network services requirement. Define the strategic direction for Network Services, including short, mid, and long‑term network initiatives to achieve desired results.
Drive the evaluation and integration of emerging and modern network technologies into the enterprise architecture.
Identify and implement automation and orchestration frameworks to reduce operational overhead, increase agility, and improve time‑to‑resolution.
Manage strategic partnerships with global network service providers and technology vendors to drive innovation, cost efficiency, and service excellence.
Lead joint planning with vendors to optimize network delivery models, ensure SLA adherence, and accelerate transformation goals.
Oversee end‑to‑end network operations, ensuring reliable, high‑performance, and secure connectivity across all global sites. Accountable for operational excellence and continuous service improvement in partnership with strategic vendors.
Drive network incident management, root cause analysis, and problem resolution, ensuring high service availability and rapid recovery in collaboration with other IT teams.
Define and enforce standards for network monitoring, observability, and network KPIs and operational SLAs.
Serve as a key advisor to the CTO and IT Leadership Team. Represent Network Services in technology leadership forums and global strategic planning sessions.
Build and lead a high‑performing global team of network architects and engineers; foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous learning.
Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within the network team and the broader IT organization.
Requirements
20+ years of experience in IT leadership, with at least 10 years in a global leadership role leading network engineering, network operations, and/or network security functions.
Proven track record of delivering strong decision making, problem solving, and crisis management skills.
Experience with high‑speed wireless, zero trust architecture and software‑defined networking, firewalls, cloud computing and network automation.
Strong knowledge of cybersecurity best practices related to large, global enterprise networks.
Experience with network performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and capacity planning tools.
Strategic thinking with a deep understanding of business and IT alignment.
Strong communication skills, able to share complex technical issues with non‑technical stakeholders.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology or a related field with preferred certifications: Cisco CCIE, Juniper JNCIE, AWS/Azure Networking Specialty, PMP or PRINCE2.
Experience working in the Insurance/Financial Services or large‑scale business operations where uptime and continuous availability were critical.
