A full-time
Dietitian
is needed for a Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE). Under the supervision of the PACE Program Manager, the Dietitian provides comprehensive nutritional care to older adult participants as a member of the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT). Responsibilities include conducting assessments, creating individualized nutrition plans, implementing interventions, and ensuring regulatory compliance to support participant health and quality of life. Key Responsibilities Maintain a working knowledge of all applicable
PACE federal, state, and local regulations , compliance standards, and ethical guidelines. Obtain and evaluate
nutritional and medical histories , lab results, medications, diet orders, and nutrition regimens to assess participant needs. Recommend and implement
nutrition interventions
to support or improve nutrition-related conditions. Complete nutrition assessments per regulatory and program guidelines to support care planning. Educate participants, families, staff, and contracted providers on
diet, food safety, and sanitation
practices. Document all nutrition-related findings in the
Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
and care plans. Participate in
daily Interdisciplinary Team meetings
and scheduled team activities. Perform additional duties as assigned to support program operations.
Required Certifications Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN)
– Active or registration eligible (Commission on Dietetic Registration). State of Iowa Dietitian License
– Active or license-eligible at time of hire. CPR/BCLS Certification
– Required. Adult Mandatory Reporter Certification
– Must be maintained. ANSI-accredited food protection/safety certification
(e.g.,
ServSafe Food Protection Manager ) – Required or must be obtained within 90 days of hire. Valid
Driver’s License
and
Auto Insurance .
Required Education Bachelor of Science
in Dietetics, Food & Nutrition, or related field meeting American Dietetic Association standards. Successful completion of an
accredited dietetic internship
or coordinated program meeting ADA/ACEND requirements.
Required Skills & Abilities Strong
oral and written communication
skills. Ability to work effectively within an
Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) . Excellent
organizational abilities
with flexibility to adapt to changing program needs. Proficiency in
Microsoft Office
and general computer use. Strong clinical judgment and comfort working with an elderly population with complex medical needs.
