About the Opportunity A community-based healthcare organization in Los Angeles is seeking a

Registered Dietitian

to support a growing nutrition program launched through a specialty grant initiative. This position will serve as the primary dietitian for the organization’s Los Angeles clinic sites, while collaborating closely with clinical leadership and the existing RD team.

This is a

part-time, hybrid role

with one onsite clinic day and one telehealth day per week.

Key Responsibilities Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) Provide individual Medical Nutrition Therapy aligned with patient clinical needs. Support a broad patient population including pediatrics, prenatal, and adults with chronic or complex conditions (e.g., diabetes, hypertension, fatty liver disease, ARFID, obesity, oncology, renal, metabolic disorders). Deliver CPSP nutrition services and support high-risk prenatal patients.

Patient Assessment & Care Planning Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments and formulate individualized care plans. Document assessments, care plans, interventions, and progress within the EHR.

Education & Counseling Provide patient-centered education and counseling, adapting materials to literacy levels. Facilitate group education sessions and develop brochures, visual aids, and other instructional content.

Program Development & Leadership Assist in building and refining a new clinical nutrition program. Contribute to departmental workflows, annual/quarterly work plans, and outcome reporting. Present nutrition-related information to staff, medical students, and program stakeholders.

Collaboration & Outreach Work closely with multidisciplinary teams (physicians, nurses, health educators, behavioral health, pharmacy, etc.). Support community engagement efforts and strengthen internal/external relationships.

Administrative & Compliance Responsibilities Maintain an organized workspace and ensure availability of patient materials. Complete administrative forms and prepare required reports. Uphold confidentiality, patient rights, safety standards, and dress code expectations.

Schedule & Work Locations Weekly Schedule: 16 hours/week , split into

two 8-hour weekdays

(no weekends). Same two days each week for consistent patient scheduling. Work Arrangement: 1 On-Site Day:

Supporting two additional LA-area clinics

Candidate Qualifications Required: Active

Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) credential

in California. Bilingual English/Spanish (required). Minimum

six months pediatrics experience OR board certification. Experience across diverse age groups (children to older adults). Familiarity with underserved populations and community clinic settings. Strong documentation skills; proficiency with EHR and Microsoft Office. Ability to explain medical and nutritional concepts in simple, accessible terms. Reliable ability to work on-site one day per week.

Highly Preferred Experience: Community health center or multisite clinical setting. Conditions including: diabetes, hypertension, prenatal/OBGYN support, ARFID, fatty liver disease, alcoholic cirrhosis, GERD.
