Substitute Custodian
Position Function Performs custodial support for school activities. Custodians will strive to provide a clean, healthful and pleasant environment for students, staff and school patrons.
Essential Functions
Responsible for routine custodial duties in all areas of the building Respond to spills, accidents, etc. that require immediate custodial attention Responsible for cleaning light fixtures and changing bulbs & lamps Responsible for anticipating supply needs and reporting them to the Head Custodian Responsible for maintaining custodial closets in a clean and orderly condition Responsible for providing assistance to maintenance personnel when directed Perform related or special tasks as assigned by the Head Custodian and School Administrator Perform general manual labor tasks including loading, unloading, lifting and moving materials Promote an environment free of harassment and discrimination Demonstrate a commitment to work Ability to work independently with minimum supervision Demonstrate good judgment and common sense Available to work additional hours and/or be on call as required to meet the needs of the position Other duties may be assigned ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain a professional attitude and a positive relationship with stakeholders at all times Perform other tasks and assume other responsibilities as assigned While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes, dust, odors, chemicals, moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions, freezing wet and/or humid conditions, wet/slippery surfaces, risk of shock, vibration and varying levels of noise /sound Equipment
Use hand tools of trade and related power equipment, including brooms, mops, floor cleaning and waxing machines, vacuum cleaners Operate equipment and machinery in a fashion to provide a safe environment Responsible for maintaining assigned custodial equipment in clean, operationally ready condition and reporting any repairs needed to the Supervisor of Custodial Services. Pay Rates $15.61 per hour.
Work Schedule As needed/on call basis. No paid time off. No benefits. Must commit to working monthly; must check email no less than 2 times per month and must meet all mandatory training expectations. Must work at least one time per every three times called for shifts. Availability during days that school is in session.
