Machine Operator

– operate warping machines, with multiple end reeds and a minimum of 240 stations fine gauge. Understand and set the proper settings and adjustments on the equipment. Creel

– load/unload magazine creel, thread creel, eye board, and reed. Identify and repair broken ends. Adjust tension according to layouts. Documentation

– ensure labels for spools are filled out properly. Read and respond to warping charts, layouts, and instructions. Complete applicable JDE move tickets and yarn check-in sheets. Enter all spools in the log book. Lifting

– remove warped beams of yarn (up to 80 pounds) and move large boxes of yarn (up to 120 pounds). Basic Warp Knitting Operator

– fabric damage repair; replace broken ends and repair minor damages in knitted fabric (gauges up to 64). Knitting Records

– record damages and webs doffed from machines. Beam Loading

– hang beams on knitting machines and properly load and thread yarn according to layout. Layouts

– read, understand and respond to written specifications in layouts (threading, setting, needles, startup). Machine Repair

– perform minor machine repair to prevent production impairment. Preventative Maintenance

– perform preventative maintenance as assigned to warper. Additional Requirements

Follow manufacturing procedures and Quality System requirements. Make recommendations for manufacturing process improvements and cost savings. Effectively communicate any manufacturing and quality concerns to the supervisor. Train other employees on new/revised procedures when required. The ability to work overtime. Participate in failure investigation and process improvement teams. Perform other related duties as required. Ensure work area is always kept neat and clean. Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

Mechanical aptitude with previous experience working with textile equipment is a plus. Effective communication skills and fluency in English. Basic math skills including unit conversions typically obtained by high school education or equivalent work experience. Ability to multi-task effectively. Desirable Skills

Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel & Outlook is a plus. Education and/or Experience

High School diploma or GED equivalent. A minimum of 4 years’ experience in the medical field within production is a plus. Physical Demands

Must be able to lift 120 lbs. Must be able to wear a respirator if required. Must be able to stand, move, twist and bend to operate, move and clean equipment.
