About the Role Under general supervision, the

Principal Reliability Engineer

applies advanced reliability engineering expertise to improve the performance, run life, and service quality of Artificial Lift products and systems. This role leads design risk management activities, develops reliability models and test methodologies, and drives data‑driven solutions that enhance equipment reliability across global operations.

The engineer serves as a technical mentor, provides strategic guidance to product development teams, and ensures reliability engineering principles are embedded throughout the product lifecycle—from concept and qualification to field deployment and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

Lead or support

design risk management activities , including FMEA, DFMEA, PFMEA, reliability assessments, and risk mitigation planning.

Develop

reliability models, reliability specifications, and test programs

for Artificial Lift systems and components.

Conduct

statistical analysis, test result interpretation, and failure analysis

to identify root causes and reliability improvement opportunities.

Develop methodologies for reliability analysis, data reporting plans, and reliability KPIs to monitor performance.

Define and implement reliability‑centered maintenance (RCM) programs and maintenance optimization strategies for Artificial Lift equipment.

Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and operations teams to ensure reliability requirements are integrated into designs and processes.

Provide technical mentorship to engineers and support personnel on reliability engineering tools, systems, and best practices.

Develop and deliver training courses, curricula, and technical guidance on reliability engineering topics.

Interface with suppliers and customers to support reliability investigations and performance reviews.

Promote a culture of continuous improvement, operational excellence, and data‑driven decision‑making.

Qualifications

Undergraduate degree in Engineering

required (Mechanical, Electrical, Petroleum, Reliability, or related discipline preferred).

Minimum

7 years of reliability engineering

experience, ideally within ESPs, gas lift systems, rotating equipment, or downhole production technologies.

Experience conducting FMEA/DFMEA, reliability modeling, Weibull analysis, risk assessments, and test program development.

Strong proficiency with reliability software tools (e.g., Weibull++, Reliasoft, Minitab).

Knowledge of electronics reliability, motor systems, rotating equipment, and downhole conditions is an asset.

Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, communication, and documentation skills.

Ability to lead cross‑functional efforts and drive reliability improvements across global teams.
