What You Will Do
Build backend services and APIs that securely handle large volumes of concurrent requests.
Architect end-to-end pipelines for data ingestion, evaluation, and delivery across compliance workflows.
Develop and maintain long-running, stateful workflows using modern orchestration tools.
Design, optimize, and maintain PostgreSQL schemas and queries for high-scale, high-integrity systems.
Own CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, deployment workflows, and observability initiatives.
Collaborate closely with engineering leadership to uphold >99.9% availability targets.
Contribute across the platform as a generalist backend engineer, driving impact in a fast-moving environment.
Ideal Candidate Background
3–8 years of backend engineering experience.
Strong proficiency with TypeScript/Node.js or Python.
Experience building backend services, APIs, and production-grade infrastructure.
Proven contributions to systems used at scale — ideally in high-growth startups or major tech environments.
Depth in PostgreSQL: schema design, query tuning, performance optimization.
Hands‑on experience with CI/CD, observability, debugging, and production readiness.
Thrives in an ownership‑driven engineering culture with high autonomy.
Comfortable working onsite in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Preferred
Experience with workflow orchestration tools (Temporal, Airflow, Prefect, Cadence).
Exposure to cloud environments such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
Familiarity with containerization and devops tooling (Docker, GitHub Actions, infrastructure-as-code).
Background in compliance, fintech, or data‑intensive systems (not required).
Ability to move quickly while maintaining reliability, safety, and clarity in design.
