State-of-the-art, high-speed manufacturing facility located in Bowling Green, KY manufactures specialty beverage cans for some of the top consumer product companies.
Position Overview
This position will perform a variety of duties including ensuring that the quality of our products is of the highest standard and meets and/or exceeds all specifications for our customers.
Duties And Responsibilities
Inspect and test products for quality defects using a variety of inspection methods.
Report quality issues and concerns to various departments.
Ensure all equipment, guards, and safety devices are in place at all times, and follow safe work procedures and safety rules.
Audit various applications to product to ensure SOP specifications are met.
Control non-conforming product by identifying and isolating defective material.
Analyze spoilage, record causes, and take corrective actions where applicable.
Monitor processes and report all problems to supervision through interaction and required paperwork.
Follow all SOP requirements and intercede or challenge proper personnel when defects are present in production runs.
Notify supervisor of any incidences of recurring equipment malfunctions and corrective action taken and of any poor quality material or supplies noted.
Interact with the Quality Manager in the creation and revision of SOPs as changes and additions require.
Keep area safe, clean, and organized.
Train Team Members new to the department.
Perform other duties as required.
Job Requirements Minimum Requirements
3 years of production experience, specifically in quality assurance or production control.
Experience with maintaining accurate records and precise measurement capabilities.
Proficient computer skills with a focus on the Microsoft Office package.
Knowledge and work history focusing on quality and safety in every aspect of the job.
Proven ability to effectively manage multiple projects/tasks simultaneously.
Effective and proven communication skills (written and verbal) in a team environment.
Must be able to work twelve (12) hour shifts, both day and evening.
Ability to work overtime as needed.
Preferred Requirements
An Associate’s Degree or equivalent is a benefit, as well as any quality-related training or certification.
Experience in a high-speed manufacturing environment is preferred.
Physical Requirements
Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and may be required to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb steps/ladders or crawl.
May lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus.
Working Conditions
Generally works in a plant environment with some duties in an office setting.
May be exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicular traffic.
May be exposed to a wide range of temperatures and loud noise levels.
