To ensure all packaging materials received from suppliers at both manufacturing plants and external warehouses meet company specifications and quality standards. This role will be responsible for intake checks, compliance verification, and documentation, supporting continuous improvement in packaging quality and supplier performance. Key Accountabilities and Deliverables

Intake Verification

Conduct compliance checks (testing) on all incoming packaging materials (including items received at both plants and two outside warehouses) against approved specifications and documented methods.

Perform physical and visual inspections using standard measures (e.g., reel width, cut off, basis weight, thickness, registration, seal strength) as outlined in company protocols.

Capture and store trend data for quality attributes in the QA repository.

Authority to hold and release packaging material for use in production.

Documentation & Reporting

Maintain accurate records of all intake checks and compliance assessments.

Provide data for non-conformance documentation to suppliers and raise intake packaging material VNCs (Vendor Non-Conformances).

Support issue investigations and escalate concerns to management as needed.

Continuous Improvement

Identify areas for improvement in packaging quality and intake processes.

Participate in projects and support issue resolution, driving reduction in risks and ensuring best practices.

Support all KPI monitoring by collating relevant data and information.

Qualifications

Education

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering, Quality, or related technical discipline preferred. Experience

1–3 years in a packaging, quality, or manufacturing environment preferred.

Experience with packaging intake, compliance checks, or supplier quality management is a plus.

Technical Skills

Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.

Ability to use measurement tools and follow ASTM standards for packaging checks.

Proficient IT skills for data capture and reporting.

Ability to communicate concisely across multiple platforms.

Other Requirements

Ability to travel weekly between sites and warehouses.

Must pass relevant color and visual assessment tests if required.

Knowledge of food safety and HACCP principles desirable.

Working Conditions

Based at Big Flats Plant , with frequent travel to other manufacturing sites and warehouses on a weekly basis.

Additional Job Details

Base starting salary ranges from $77k - $97k/year. The base pay offered is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. In addition to base pay, this role includes: An annual incentive opportunity, awarded based on individual and company performance.
