Transportation Engineer role at Accura Engineering and Consulting Services, Inc. Responsibilities

Roadway Design: Develop roadway designs and layouts using industry-standard software (e.g., InRoads, ORD, MicroStation, AutoCAD Civil 3D) in accordance with state and local guidelines. Project Management: Lead roadway projects from conception through completion, ensuring that schedules, budgets, and client expectations are met. Plan Preparation: Prepare construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates for roadway and transportation projects. Coordination & Collaboration: Work closely with other disciplines, including traffic, structural, and drainage teams, to ensure integrated project delivery. Client Interaction: Maintain strong client relationships by understanding their needs and providing practical, effective engineering solutions. Compliance: Ensure that all projects adhere to federal, state, and local regulations, including the specific requirements of state Departments of Transportation (DOT), preferably GDOT. Quality Control: Conduct design reviews and ensure accuracy and consistency of project deliverables. Permitting & Approvals: Assist in the preparation and submission of permit applications and other regulatory approvals. Technical Reports: Prepare technical reports, memos, and other documentation as required for projects. Mentorship: Provide guidance and support to junior engineers and technicians to help develop their skills and knowledge. Education/Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering is a plus. 5-10 years of roadway engineering experience, with a focus on transportation infrastructure projects. Professional Engineer (PE) license required or ability to obtain within six months. Proficiency in roadway design software such as MicroStation, InRoads, ORD, and AutoCAD Civil 3D. Experience with DOT projects (GDOT preferred) and familiarity with applicable design standards. Strong project management skills with the ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective client interaction and collaboration. A detail-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving abilities. Experience working on intersection improvement, sidewalk improvements, bridge replacements, and large-scale transportation projects, including highways and urban roadways is a plus Familiarity with traffic engineering principles and their application in roadway design is a plus Benefits
