Project Leader (Penske Logistics)
Position Summary:
Manage the implementation of an event such as a process improvement initiative, network redesign or systems deployment within Penske Financial and Operational Systems. Responsible for the formalization of a realistic timeline, complete with milestones, targets and identification of responsible parties. Handles many tasks and assignments directly, delegating as needed to other subject matter experts. Will ensure stakeholder and shareholder buy‑in and facilitate regular communication to convey progress, inhibitors or roadblocks to the successful completion.
Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Hours may vary depending on business needs)
Major Responsibilities
Ability to mine data from various Penske systems to create metrics, dashboards and other informational tools to measure process accuracy, timeliness against stated goals
Analyze financial information and reports to provide accurate and timely financial recommendations to management for decision making purposes
Update and monitor key performance indicators and key financial metrics, highlighting trends and analyzing variances, to understand and be able to communicate the financial health of each location
Provide senior management and the operations team with in‑depth financial analysis of actual spend to drive insights on trends, investment areas and opportunities to optimize costs, driving better decision making
Deliver ad hoc reporting and analysis
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
1 to 2 years of Project Management experience required
Project Management certifications preferred
Bachelor's degree required, advanced degrees or certifications preferred
Strong analytical skills, written/oral communication and organizational skills are required as this position will have frequent executive communication and presentation
Highly organized and self‑motivated individual with a strong work ethic and ability to thrive as part of a financial management team
Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Outlook and PowerPoint required
Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening are required
