Hiring Range: $56,485 - $60,000 annually, depending on qualifications.

FLSA Status: Exempt.

Recruitment process: Applications are reviewed starting December 5 2025 until a finalist is identified.

Position Description:

The Policy Coordinator reports to the Director of Policy and Research and the Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy and Legislative Affairs. This role (1) provides administrative support, including scheduling, to the Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy and Legislative Affairs and Director of Policy and Research, (2) supports administrative and operational processes among the Governor’s Policy and Research team, and (3) supports special projects and policy research as assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Maintains and manages calendars, coordinating all meeting and event logistics for the Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy and Legislative Affairs and the Director of Policy and Research.

Manages logistics for Policy and Research team weekly meetings, including attending and taking notes.

Acts as point of contact for conference room and video‑conferencing access for the Policy and Research team.

Works with the Governor’s Scheduling Team to ensure all memos and briefing materials for the Governor are organized and prepared on time.

Maintains and updates relevant contact lists (internal, agency, stakeholders and federal).

Manages the Agency Report Review Process, tracking and organizing reports and ensuring they are reviewed and submitted in a timely manner.

Supports Policy and Research office workflow, such as fielding and directing inquiries, maintaining office condition and arranging necessary repairs, sending weekly team emails with important documents, and other miscellaneous tasks.

Ensures Policy and Research team are tagged in correct proclamations and reviews proclamations that don’t fit in others portfolios.

Assigns bills in Salesforce to the Policy and Research team during Legislative Session.

Assists the communications, scheduling and legislative team during the Bill Signing Tour; provides memos for talking points for the Governor and participates in advance team travel to set up bill signings.

Assists with research and special projects related to policy initiatives.

Desired Skills and Competencies Successful coordinators are familiar with governmental and legislative processes, are detail‑oriented with sound decision‑making, research, analytical and project‑management skills, and demonstrate ability to meet deadlines while adapting to changing priorities. Strong written and verbal communication, advanced interpersonal skills, quick learning ability, and the capacity to influence and persuade to solve complex problems are essential. Additional competencies include synthesizing complex information and research into concise, relevant, logical, and organized formats, identifying and minimizing potential conflicts, working effectively in teams, and maintaining a positive attitude.

Education / Experience

Two years of professional experience in a related field, or an associate’s degree or higher (substitutions allowed on a year‑to‑year basis).

Conditions of Employment

Selected individual must reside in Colorado at the time of employment.
