level with an in‑scope CI poly.

We’re hiring multiple Emerging and Disruptive Technology Analysts. In this position you will analyze and assess technology and its military application(s) by foreign states and non‑states. Analysts will support Object‑Based Intelligence (OBI) production with a specialized focus on emerging technologies and strategic horizon analysis. Analysts will evaluate the potential national security implications of disruptive technologies—such as artificial intelligence, quantum computing, biotechnology, and autonomous systems—and identify early indicators of technological shifts. This role supports the development of ontologies for structured intelligence integration and contributes to anticipatory analysis that informs long‑term defense planning and early warning.

Responsibilities

Produce assessments projecting the discovery, development, and deployment of advanced technologies and the potential impact to Defense Critical Infrastructure and U.S. nuclear weapons worldwide.

Produce intelligence supporting the production of the National Security Threat Capabilities Assessment, and threat assessments/global baseline assessments for the Defense Critical Infrastructure Program (DCIP).

Provide early warning of disruptive developments to ensure Intelligence Community awareness of evolving technological landscapes.

Conduct all‑source analysis to assess the strategic impact of emerging technologies on national security.

Identify and evaluate potential future threats and opportunities posed by technological developments across global domains.

Develop and refine ontologies to support OBI production and semantic interoperability within the Defense Intelligence Core Ontology.

Apply structured analytic techniques (e.g., ACH, scenario analysis, key assumptions check) to assess technology trends and forecast disruptive shifts.

Monitor global R&D, innovation ecosystems, and technology adoption patterns to inform strategic foresight and early warning.

Collaborate with data scientists and technologists to integrate advanced analytics, machine learning, and semantic technologies into analytic workflows.

Document analytic processes to support automation, reproducibility, and integration into knowledge graphs and decision‑support systems.

Produce assessments and briefings tailored to senior decision‑makers, highlighting risks, opportunities, and strategic implications of emerging technologies.

Minimum Qualifications

Must be a U.S. citizen and have an active TS/SCI with CI poly.

12 years of experience and an advanced degree.

Experience conducting strategic foresight or horizon scanning in a national security or technology context.

Strong oral and written communication skills.

Expert ability to describe findings and techniques tailored to the intended audience, including technical and non‑technical decision makers.

Preferred Qualifications

Deep understanding of emerging technology domains (e.g., AI, quantum, biotech, space systems, autonomy).

Experience supporting OBI production and working with Defense Intelligence ontologies.

Develops and employs strategies to analyze key issues, draw conclusions from data, and recommend viable solutions to address customer mission needs.

Ability to lead multi‑disciplinary teams to complete complex data science projects.

Demonstrated experience in solving problems with structured and unstructured data.

Experienced in applying statistical and data visualization skills.

Strong problem‑solving skills to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets.

Pay Transparency

The pay for this position within the Washington, DC metropolitan area is: $118,000.00 – $196,000.00 annually.
