Position Value Proposition We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented
Project Manager
to lead structural steel projects from kickoff through completion. This position is responsible for managing cost, schedule, documentation, and communication for assigned steel projects. The ideal candidate has deep experience in steel fabrication and erection and excels at coordinating across teams including detailing, shop, field crews, and external stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered with precision, efficiency, and client satisfaction.
Core Responsibilities
Lead and manage the complete execution of structural steel projects, ensuring alignment with budget, schedule, and scope.
Develop project execution plans in coordination with sales, estimating, detailing, and operations.
Manage submittals, fabrication schedules, and delivery milestones to support field erection sequencing.
Coordinate with internal teams (detailing, fabrication, field) and subcontractors to maintain project momentum and resolve issues.
Track and manage project budgets, including change orders, purchase orders, and subcontractor costs.
Monitor contract compliance and identify areas of risk or deviation.
Lead project meetings with customers, general contractors, engineers, and design teams.
Provide accurate and timely project documentation, status reports, and updates to leadership.
Visit job sites and fabrication facilities as needed to support quality assurance and resolve field challenges.
Mentor and provide guidance to Project Coordinators and other junior staff.
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of project management experience in structural steel fabrication and erection, or 8+ years as a Coordinator or Assistant PM in the steel industry.
High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Structural/Civil Engineering, or Business is preferred.
Strong understanding of steel fabrication and erection standards, AISC code, AWS welding codes, and shop/field processes.
Ability to read and interpret design drawings, shop drawings, and 3D models.
Familiarity with steel detailing workflows and collaboration with BIM/VDC teams.
Proven track record of managing multiple steel projects with tight deadlines and high client expectations.

May require extended hours or weekend work to meet project deadlines.
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.
Physical/Site Requirements
Ability to lift and carry up to 45 pounds.
Must be able to move in and around confined, cluttered, or uneven job site areas.
Comfortable working in varying temperature extremes and other outside conditions.
Capable of working up to 12‑hour shifts when necessary.
Must be able to climb ladders, scaffolds, and steel framework and maintain balance at elevated heights.
Tolerant of noise, dust, and physical demands of active construction and fabrication environments.
