The
QA/QC Manager
directs all site quality assurance and control activities, serves as a technical specialist in assigned disciplines, and assists in defining inspection processes and certifying inspectors. Roles and Responsibilities
Assign QA/QC staff for inspections and audits, supervising QC Level I‑III inspectors. Oversee quality assurance documentation, ensuring records are legible, complete, traceable, and compliant with acceptance standards. Assist in defining inspection processes and certifying co‑workers. Develop and implement company/project QA/QC programs, including manuals, standards, procedures, and training. Direct inspection and test personnel in quality‑related activities. Review and approve test controls and results; perform vendor inspections and witness tests as needed. Conduct inspections, audits, and surveillance to enforce quality and safety programs, identify violations, and institute corrective actions. Verify received items meet contract acceptance criteria. Document and facilitate corrections of non‑conformances. Provide guidance, coaching, and support to direct reports to maximize performance. Hold timely performance appraisals, progress reviews, and align staff goals with company mission. Ensure training aligns with career development plans. Conduct department staff meetings and collaborate on initiatives, policies, and procedures. Partner with HR to ensure employment law compliance and conduct related training or workshops. Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in an engineering, scientific, or construction‑related discipline plus 6 years of related experience (or equivalent combination). Knowledge of construction practices (formwork, rebar, concrete placing, etc.). Quality assurance experience, preferably in the nuclear power industry (DOE/DOD facilities). Quality inspector experience. Proficiency with applicable quality codes and standards, preferably NRC regulations. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Proficiency in SharePoint/FileNet and Blue Beam software. Competencies
Read, analyze, and interpret technical documents, procedures, and regulations. Write coherent reports, correspondence, and procedures. Present information effectively to managers, clients, and the public. Understand and modify spreadsheets. Listen actively and respond appropriately. Apply mathematical concepts to practical situations. Direct work and evaluate strengths and weaknesses of co‑workers. Work collaboratively in a team environment.
