Job Summary The Maintenance Technician installs, troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains facility and equipment according to safety, forecasting, and preventive maintenance schedules and systems. The Technician provides safe transportation for clients in agency vehicles to various appointments, assists with loading and unloading donated goods, helps clients moving into their own homes, and coordinates and supervises work completed by clients residing at the Homeless Assistance Center.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Maintains grounds and landscape areas to ensure they are presentable, clean, and safe.

Performs a variety of maintenance work to ensure a clean, safe environment for clients, staff, and visitors, minimizing major repair costs and extending equipment life.

Maintains landscape and construction equipment, performing preventative maintenance to ensure safe operation.

Provides emergency or unscheduled repairs of equipment, ensuring minimum disruption of daily activities.

Relocates furniture and related items to rearrange workstations, set up meetings, activities, and events.

Performs plumbing, mechanical, carpentry, and basic electrical work.

Maintains floors and applies wax on a regular basis.

Diagnoses problems, replaces or repairs parts, tests, and makes adjustments.

Uses hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment.

Coordinates and supervises maintenance and janitorial work completed by clients at the Homeless Assistance Center.

Manages emergency and scheduled repairs of equipment, ensuring minimum disruption of daily activities.

Detects faulty operations, defective material, and reports unusual situations to proper personnel.

Transports clients to and from activities and appointments, ensuring safety by following traffic rules and safe driving habits.

Picks up and delivers products to specified locations, maintaining an organized loading/unloading system and sorting donated goods at the Homeless Assistance Center.

Demonstrates manual dexterity and strength to organize, package, lift, and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds.

Adheres to preventive maintenance schedules.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.

Completion of a craft apprenticeship or equivalent maintenance experience preferred.

Ability to respond to emergency calls and work a flexible schedule.

Experience using power tools and equipment.

Valid driver’s license, safe driving record, and ability to lift up to 50 lbs with appropriate gear.

Work Environment The role involves working in offices, classrooms, group rooms, and other areas of Broward Partnership programs both on and off campus. Salary and Benefits Hourly Rate: $17.50
