Client is seeking a highly experienced
Data Architect
to lead the design and development of robust data solutions that drive ETRM (Energy Trading and Risk Management) analytics, financial and operational reporting, and cloud migration initiatives. This role requires deep technical leadership in building large-scale data pipelines, governance structures, and modern cloud-based data architectures.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities: Translate business requirements into scalable data architecture and specifications Lead data modeling and ETRM analytics initiatives Design and implement cloud-native data pipelines and batch/real-time processing Migrate data from on-prem systems to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) Define and enforce data governance frameworks, data quality assessments, and compliance protocols Maintain enterprise data catalog and data documentation practices Build cross-functional collaboration between business and IT stakeholders Guide best practices for data management, stewardship, and security Must-Haves:
10+ years in data architecture, analytics, and reporting 6+ years of cloud experience (AWS strongly preferred) 10+ years working with SQL and database platforms (Snowflake, PostgreSQL, Oracle, Azure SQL DW, etc.) 6+ years with scripting languages: Python, SQL, Shell 6+ years implementing data solutions using AWS services (e.g., S3, RDS, Lambda, Glue, DBT) Strong experience with ETRM data models and tools 4+ years in data modeling (conceptual to physical) and use of tools like ERwin or ER/Studio Experience with data governance tools like Atlan or Informatica Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field Soft Skills:
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills Strong attention to detail and problem-solving mindset Independent and team-oriented contributor Capable of managing multiple priorities in fast-paced environments Nice-to-Haves:
Experience with GIS/geospatial data Familiarity with RNG and power/gas sector analytics Prior work with Power BI descriptive analytics Data catalog and metadata management experience
