Overview Honeywell is seeking a Manager Engineering (Electrical Engineering Manager) to provide essential technical expertise and resources in the replacement and redesign of obsolete RF components across various production lines. This role will generate technical proposals and estimates (BOE) related to Diminishing Manufacturing Sources (DMS) initiatives. The Electrical Engineering Manager will also oversee, coordinate, and manage engineering activities for manufacturing methods, processes, and activities, ensuring successful integration of redesigned products into production. The position requires collaboration among development, process, and manufacturing engineering teams throughout the Honeywell Lifecycle Management process to promote best practices, align with business objectives, and enhance overall engineering efficiency.
Responsibilities
Provide focused leadership in identifying and mitigating obsolescence risks, including immediate responses and continuous evaluation of potential obsolescence.
Identify suitable replacement parts for obsolete components, perform analysis and verification to ensure they meet performance and reliability requirements.
Address production technical issues that arise during the product lifecycle.
Work with the supply chain team to secure reliable sources for components essential to RF projects.
Lead and direct the day‑to‑day activities of the design and manufacturing engineering team, fostering a culture of quality and performance improvements.
Communicate proactively with stakeholders to ensure project and process goals are met.
Mentor and develop entry or intermediate level engineers and those in production engineering roles interested in RF design and development.
Conduct complex system analyses and oversee comprehensive multistage cascade analyses for optimal performance of complex RF systems.
Collaborate with mechanical engineers, designers, and product engineers for seamless integration of electronic designs and oversee mechanical design and drawing packages.
Support production lines with testing, troubleshooting, and meeting delivery commitments.
Qualifications Minimum
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or physics, and 10+ years of experience with RF and Microwave systems.
Familiarity with linear simulation tools (ADS, Microwave Office) and EM simulation tools (HFSS, Sonnet).
Familiarity with CAD tools (Draftsight, AutoCAD) for engineering drawings.
Minimum 3 years of project lead experience with high‑visibility projects.
Minimum 3 years of mentorship and coaching experience.
Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
Position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware controlled by U.S. export laws; must be a “U.S. Person” under export laws or eligible for approval.
Preferred
Hands‑on experience designing and developing advanced microwave and millimeter‑wave subsystems and components.
Proven experience with linear simulation tools (ADS, Microwave Office) and EM simulation tools (HFSS, Sonnet).
Experience using CAD tools (Draftsight, AutoCAD) for detailed engineering designs.
Salary Range $160,000 – $205,000 annually. Employees may qualify for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Pay may vary based on location, job function, education and experience. CAES provides health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, 401(k), paid holidays and vacation.
