Responsibilities
Lead and manage a team of engineers in development of new and innovative products from concept to production.
Utilize expertise in CAD, UL Code, Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and knowledge of manufacturing processes such as roll forming, casting, injection molding, stamping, and machining to design and develop products.
Work closely with cross‑functional teams including design, manufacturing, quality assurance, and sales to ensure products meet customer needs and company standards.
Oversee and manage the product development process, including prototype development, testing, and production.
Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives and implement best practices in product development and manufacturing processes.
Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials and components.
Lead and participate in design reviews and root cause analysis activities.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related field.
Minimum 8 years of experience in mechanical or structural engineering, with at least 5 years of management experience in a similar environment.
High level of knowledge of products manufactured via extrusion, roll forming, casting, injection molding, stamping or machining.
General understanding of load calculations and structural engineering.
Proficiency with engineering methods and tools including CAD, finite element analysis, MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Word.
Experience working with codes and standards (International Building Code, National Electrical Code) and ability to communicate with test labs and local authorities having jurisdiction.
Desired subject‑matter expert authority in at least one relevant technical subject (e.g., Aluminum or Steel Design, Code).
