Senior Electrical Engineer 2 – Grid
Join Sargent & Lundy as a Senior Electrical Engineer 2 – Grid, contributing to high‑voltage substation projects in a hybrid work schedule.
Work Arrangement This position allows for a hybrid work schedule with a mix of office and remote work from home.
Role Overview You will be a Project Team member, helping with detailed electrical design and project management of high voltage substation projects.
Responsibilities
Take an active role in project conceptualization, work planning, and project execution.
Investigate, troubleshoot, and solve a wide variety of electrical engineering issues.
Prepare reports presenting technical and project information clearly, meeting client requirements and S&L formats.
Share knowledge with other experienced engineers through S&L’s process systems and Communities of Practice.
Possibly travel to client sites as needed.
Qualifications
ABET‑accredited BSEE degree.
7+ years of experience in the design of medium voltage power systems or related area.
Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple projects under budget and time constraints.
Experience tracking project information (schedules, expenditures, status reports).
Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
Experience reviewing design drawings from others.
Proficiency with MS Office.
Valued but Not Required
3+ years in design of substations 138kV and above.
Ability to prepare substation grounding, shield, battery and charger sizing calculations.
Physical layout and protection & controls experience.
Experience with substation single line, relaying, metering, DC schematic, plan & section, grounding plans.
Familiarity with ANSI/IEEE/NEMA standards, including National Electrical Safety Code (ANSI‑C2).
PE license.
AutoCAD experience.
Compensation $95,840.00 – $147,870.00.
