OVERNIGHT SECURITY OFFICER Springboard Hospitality – Ohia Waikiki Hotel, Honolulu, HI

Salary: $22.00 - $22.00 hourly

Primary Mission As the Security Officer, you play a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of guests, team members, and property. You will conduct routine patrols, monitor for potential risks, and respond professionally to emergencies, disturbances, and incidents, maintaining a safe and welcoming environment.

Scope of Work + Team

Reports to Operations Manager

Part of Security Department

Responsibilities

Know the complete hotel facilities and layout including emergency procedures.

Spend majority of shift on foot patrol, walking, climbing stairs of the interior and perimeter of the hotel to observe and identify potential security and safety risks or undesirable conditions.

Patrol parking lot and interior hallways/public areas ensuring safety of guests and property.

Prepare routine logs of status of patrolled areas.

Prepare security incident report and notify appropriate managers when an incident occurs.

Escort guests to parking lot areas and assist with luggage if needed.

Perform housekeeping duties during overnight absences, assist Night Auditor with guest calls, and perform Engineer on Duty duties as required.

Respond to guest questions regarding hotel layout, suites, meeting rooms, and outlets.

Report and follow up on any complaints or problems guests experience in a timely and professional manner.

Attend emergency training and procedures to ensure appropriate protection of guests, staff, and assets.

Memorize and monitor life safety system, alarm pull stations, fire extinguishers, and sprinklers.

Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned.

Maintain good working relationships and open communication with all departments.

Train, cross‑train, and re‑train staff as needed.

Assist Night Auditor, MOD, and Valet whenever necessary.

Participate in hotel committees and task force assignments.

Experience

Prior Experience

2+ years in a related security position (minimum one year of employment).

IT Expertise

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook, and web analytics tools preferred.

Education & Certifications

High school education or equivalent experience.

Guard card and CPR/First Aid certification required.

Subject Expertise & Skills

Working knowledge of all property safety and security procedures.

Service orientation with excellent customer service and sales skills.

Effective communication in English; strong reading, writing, and listening skills.

Energetic, outgoing, and proficient interpersonal and organizational abilities.

Attention to detail, speed, and accuracy in following directions.

Team player able to work with minimal supervision.

Multi‑tasking in a fast‑paced environment.

Basic financial knowledge and arithmetic problem‑solving.

Typing 45 WPM; proficient with Microsoft Office.

Confidentiality and discretion required.

Other Expectations

Abide by payroll policies, procedures, and the Springboard Hospitality Associate Handbook.

Demonstrate knowledge of company safety and security procedures.

Travel as needed for hotel familiarization, content creation shoots, and meetings.

Flexible to work early mornings, nights, overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.
