Location & Remote Eligibility Remote roles may be based in any of the following states: AL, AZ, FL, GA, IA, IL, IN, MI, MN, MO, NC, NE, PA, SC, TN, TX, UT, VA, WV. Remote status and role locations are subject to change, and relocation is not provided. Employees within a 90‑minute radius of our Oak Brook, IL headquarters must adhere to in‑office guidelines of 4 days per month (10 am‑2 pm, one day a Monday or Friday). This requirement does not apply to support specialist positions.

Job Summary & Responsibilities The Quality Engineer II will report to the Quality Engineering Manager in the Technology Department. Key responsibilities include:

Review requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to provide meaningful feedback.

Create detailed, comprehensive, and well‑structured test plans and test cases.

Estimate, prioritize, plan, and coordinate testing activities.

Design, develop, and execute automation scripts using open‑source tools (e.g., Selenium, BrowserStack, Postman).

Identify, record, document, and track bugs.

Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved.

Develop and apply testing processes for new and existing products to meet client needs.

Liaise with internal teams (developers, product managers) to identify system requirements.

Monitor debugging process results.

Investigate causes of non‑conforming software and train users to implement solutions.

Track quality assurance metrics such as defect densities and open defect counts.

Stay up to date with new testing tools and test strategies.

Other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

Years of Experience: 3–5 years in software quality assurance and development.

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

QA testing certifications (or willingness to obtain) such as CSTE, CSQA, CAST.

Proficiency with tools such as Selenium, BrowserStack, Postman, or other QA testing tools.

Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.

Experience writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases.

Hands‑on experience with automated testing tools.

Excellent analytical and communication skills.

Experience preparing, presenting, and maintaining SDLC documentation and artifacts.

Experience with performance and/or security testing (plus).

Experience with complex technical integrations (APIs, web services) and SaaS/PaaS cloud platforms (preferred).

Experience with XML, JavaScript, .NET framework, T‑SQL, jQuery, JSON (preferred).

Solid knowledge of SQL and scripting (preferred).

Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process (preferred).

Familiarity with Jira and the software development life cycle (SDLC) (preferred).

Pay Range $78,000 – $102,000 per year (varies by location, skills, and experience).
