Postdoctoral Research Associate – Cardiovascular, Gastrointestinal & Urological Regenerative Engineering Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago (Lurie Children’s) is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate to develop regenerative engineering strategies for cardiovascular, gastrointestinal and urological disease states. The position is one-year term-limited, funded by a grant, with expectation of renewal based on performance.

Responsibilities

Provide technical assistance to investigators and collaborators.

Perform experimental work in cell culture, organoid fabrication, stem cell isolation and characterization.

Analyze data using statistical software (R, Python, MATLAB, SAS) and generate figures for presentations, grants and publications.

Participate in lab meetings, journal clubs and research seminars.

Help write grant proposals and progress reports related to research projects.

Assist in the design, synthesis and characterization of nanomolecules and small molecules for tissue regeneration and inflammation modulation.

Assist in the fabrication and characterization of biomaterials and 3D printing applications for in vivo studies.

Support computational modeling including agent‑based, PK/PD and machine learning approaches.

Support the use of soft, conformal bioelectronics.

Qualifications

PhD (or MD) in Bioengineering, Biomedical Engineering, Biomedical Sciences, Chemical Engineering or related field.

0–3 years of experience in advanced cell culture, organoid culture and stem cell biology.

Experience in quantitative morphometry derived from IHC/IF tissue staining.

Experience in nanomolecule design, synthesis and characterization (WAXS, SAXS, CD, HPLC, LC‑MS/MS; in vitro and in vivo assessment).

Experience in small molecule library screening and in vivo testing for tissue regeneration and inflammation modulation.

Experience in polymeric biomaterial fabrication and characterization (mechanical testing, IR, NMR) with in vivo applications.

Experience in 3D bioprinting/printing with in vivo applications.

Experience with small and large animal handling, surgery and maintenance.

Strong statistical/data analysis background and expertise with R, Python, MATLAB, SAS.

Experience with agent‑based modeling, PK/PD modeling, machine learning (a plus).

Familiarity with soft, conformal bioelectronics.

Salary $46,280.00 – $75,670.40 per year.
