Job Summary The Control Engineer will lead the design, development, and implementation of control systems for advanced robotic automation projects. This role emphasizes PLC programming, robotic integration, and industrial control system design, including electrical schematics and control panel builds. The ideal candidate has extensive hands‑on experience designing, programming, commissioning, and troubleshooting complex automated systems in manufacturing or process environments.
Responsibilities System Design & Development
Design, program, and integrate PLC‑based control systems for robotic and automated machinery.
Develop detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and I/O documentation.
Design and oversee the build of control panels, ensuring compliance with relevant electrical and safety standards.
Specify and configure hardware components such as PLCs, HMIs, servo drives, sensors, and safety devices.
PLC & HMI Programming
Develop structured and well‑documented PLC code using IEC 61131‑3 standard programming languages (Ladder Diagram, Structured Text, Function Block Diagram, Sequential Function Chart, and Instruction List).
Program using major PLC platforms such as Allen‑Bradley (Rockwell), Siemens, Beckhoff, or Mitsubishi.
Design and program HMI/SCADA systems for intuitive operation, diagnostics, and data visualization.
Robotics Integration
Integrate and program industrial robots (Fanuc, ABB, KUKA, Yaskawa, Universal Robots, etc.) into automated cells.
Develop motion control logic and establish robust communication between robots and PLC systems.
Lead on‑site installation, startup, and system validation at customer facilities.
Troubleshoot control systems (hardware and software), identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
Provide training and technical support to maintenance and production teams.
Serve as a technical lead, mentoring junior engineers and collaborating with mechanical, electrical, and software teams.
Contribute to project planning, documentation, and timeline management.
Ensure compliance with safety and industry standards (e.g., ISO, IEC, NFPA, CE).
Minimum Qualifications Education:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, Mechatronics, or a related field.
Experience:
15 years of experience in industrial control system design and PLC programming.
Proven experience with robotic automation systems and motion control applications.
Demonstrated ability to create electrical drawings and build or oversee the build of control panels.
Strong understanding of industrial communication protocols (EtherNet/IP, ProfiNet, Modbus TCP, etc.).
Familiarity with machine and functional safety systems.
Technical Skills:
Proficient in IEC 61131‑3 programming languages (LD, ST, FBD, SFC, IL).
Experience with HMI/SCADA platforms (FactoryTalk View, WinCC, Ignition, etc.).
Ability to design and interpret electrical schematics using AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN.
Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills for both electrical and software systems.
This position requires an active U.S. Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (An U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)

Summary Pay‑Range Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only of what is reasonably expected to be paid for the position. Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Level 5: $165,750 – $243,750
Security Clearance Millennium is DDTC‑registered, ITAR‑compliant. This position is located at a facility that requires special access. Applicants must be U.S. citizens and eligible for a security clearance. Applicants must be willing to apply for and maintain a security clearance.
