Description The Research Informatics Solutions Architect for our Insight Research Administration System plays a critical role in supporting research and academic excellence by developing, maintaining, and optimizing data‑driven applications and analytical tools. This position bridges the gap between research teams, IT services, and institutional leadership, ensuring that complex datasets and research outputs are transformed into actionable insights that advance scholarly work and strategic decision‑making. This candidate will be aligned to our research administration applications that streamline the complex lifecycle of academic research, from compliance to funding. These applications help universities and research institutions manage grants, ethics approvals, reporting, and collaboration more efficiently. You will be a solutions architect for our research administration applications that provide its users features such as grants management, compliance oversight, workflow automation, scalability, data integrity, and collaboration tools.

Responsibilities

Design end‑to‑end solutions that integrate various healthcare systems, applications, and data sources to improve operational efficiency and patient care.

Collaborate with stakeholders to define the strategic vision and roadmap for healthcare technology initiatives, aligning them with business objectives and industry trends.

Lead the architectural design process, from initial concept to detailed specifications and implementation plans, ensuring adherence to best practices and regulatory requirements.

Lead a team of healthcare solutions architects, providing coaching and support to enhance their skills and capabilities.

Define and document enterprise solution architecture principles, standards, and guidelines, and ensure their adoption across all IT projects and initiatives, and alignment with the governance process.

Drive innovation and continuous improvement in healthcare technology by evaluating emerging trends, tools, and methodologies, and incorporating them into solution designs.

Serve as a subject matter expert on healthcare industry standards and regulations, such as HIPAA, HL7, DICOM, and FHIR, and ensure compliance in all solutions.

Engage with key stakeholders, including healthcare providers, administrators, and third‑party agencies, to understand their requirements and provide strategic guidance on technology solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Insight Research Administration System, or other Research Administration applications such as Huron Research Suite, OnCore, Cayuse, Kuali, InfoEd Global, ERA Commons.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Healthcare Informatics, or related field. Master's degree preferred.

Minimum 10 years in a related IT or Engineering discipline; extensive knowledge of cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and experience architecting solutions using cloud‑native services.

Strong understanding of HL7 and FHIR interoperability standards and protocols, with experience integrating disparate healthcare systems and data sources.

Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and inspire cross‑functional teams and stakeholders.

Demonstrated ability to think strategically, anticipate future trends, and develop innovative solutions to complex challenges.

Relevant certifications (e.g., TOGAF, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, HL7 FHIR Proficiency) preferred.
