About Our Team:
Our team collaborates with US stores and eCommerce to serve customers better by empowering team members, stores, and merchants with technological innovation. Walmart U.S. offers a wide range of products valued by customers shopping online or in-store, focusing on areas like Customers, Stores, Employees, In-Store Services, Merchant Tools, Data Science, and eCommerce.
What You'll Do:
Build and maintain engaging, high-performance apps at a large scale.
Develop robust, maintainable, and well-tested code for functionality, performance, scalability, security, monitoring, and alerting across environments.
Plan and implement enhancements to improve application functionality, resiliency, usability, and security.
Understand business, stakeholder, and technical requirements; analyze existing solutions; create modular, extensible designs.
Assess gaps between customer expectations and current products; analyze past defects to prevent recurrence.
Analyze system performance for reliability, operability, and security; troubleshoot bottlenecks.
Develop and maintain automated tests and deployment procedures.
Follow and contribute to coding and design best practices.
What You'll Bring:
Strong understanding of Android components, multithreading, networking, offline storage, and performance tuning.
Experience with Android SDK, geofencing APIs, sandbox, and design systems.
Advanced Kotlin skills, system and UX design knowledge.
Experience with push notifications, in-app messaging, GraphQL/Apollo, build tools, static analysis, app profiling, and scalable data ingestion tools.
Focus on high code coverage and developer productivity, with resilience and stability in mind.

The annual salary range is $108,000 - $216,000, with additional bonuses and potential stock options.
Minimum Qualifications:
Option 1: Bachelor's degree in a related field plus 2 years’ experience or
Option 2: 4 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in creating accessible digital experiences, knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and inclusive design practices. A Master's in Computer Science is a plus.
