Position Summary The Council on Foreign Relations’s (CFR) David Rockefeller Studies Program is one of the country’s largest foreign policy think tanks with a widely respected and influential research staff. The Studies Program aims to advance the discussion of American foreign policy and international affairs through its writing, publications, public outreach, and discussions. CFR’s Fellowship Program offers unique opportunities for mid-career professionals focusing on international relations. The program affords fellows the opportunity to broaden their perspective of foreign affairs and to pursue proposed research, with a placement at CFR or another institution in New York City, Washington, DC, or select international locations. The program assistant will be part of a dynamic team and will work with the director of fellowship affairs to help support the wide range of fellowship activities. This full-time position is based in either CFR’s Washington DC or New York City office on a hybrid basis. CFR currently defines hybrid status as working at least three days a week onsite, with Tuesdays and Thursdays considered institutional anchor days where all staff are required to be onsite.
Major Responsibilities
Assist with event logistics for information sessions, receptions, and selection committee meetings, helping to prepare materials for distribution, and providing other logistical support.
Provide administrative support to the Fellowship Affairs team.
Assist with preparing vouchers for reimbursement.
Assist with the processing of fellowship applications.
Assist with updating the Fellowship Program’s website.
Monitor the email and phone line for the Fellowship Program, including serving as the initial point of contact for applicants, and managing the application process.
Maintain fellowship contact database, including updating contact information.
Perform any other duties or tasks as assigned or required.
Qualifications Experience
Bachelor of Arts in International Relations or a related field with high academic credentials.
One or more year(s) of related experience.
Related Skills & Other Requirements
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
Excellent writing and communication skills.
Outstanding professional judgment and demeanor.
Proven ability to work in a fast-paced deadline driven environment, both individually and as part of a team.
Excellent computer and database management skills.

Compensation and Benefits
The full-time annual compensation range for this position is $55,000-$58,000, depending on experience.
