Project Director - Data Center Construction We are seeking a Project Director with strong data center development and construction experience to lead major projects from site acquisition through design, permitting, construction, and commissioning. As part of the owner/developer organization, this role will oversee all external partners—including design teams, general contractors, and key vendors—while ensuring projects align with our development strategy, technical standards, and objectives.

The ideal candidate has delivered multiple large‑scale data center projects, understands both the development and construction sides of the business, and excels at coordinating complex stakeholder groups.

Key Responsibilities

Lead end‑to‑end delivery of data center development projects, from early due diligence through final turnover to operations.

Manage design consultants, general contractors, and key vendors to ensure alignment with project goals, technical requirements, and quality standards.

Oversee schedules, budgets, risk management, entitlements, and permitting activities.

Serve as the primary internal and external project representative, maintaining strong communication with leadership, operations, legal, utilities, and local authorities.

Ensure all work complies with company design standards, safety requirements, and regulatory obligations.

Direct preconstruction activities—including budgeting, conceptual design, procurement strategies, and value engineering.

Provide clear leadership to project managers and development support staff across multiple concurrent projects.

Identify project risks and drive timely mitigation strategies.

Support long‑term capacity planning and site development strategies for the regional portfolio.

Qualifications

8–12+ years of experience in data center development or mission‑critical construction management.

Experience working for a developer, owner/operator, or colocation provider is strongly preferred.

Strong knowledge of civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and commissioning processes.

Proven ability to lead multi‑disciplinary teams and manage general contractors and design partners.

Excellent organizational, financial, and communication skills.

Experience with development processes such as permitting, entitlements, and utility coordination.

Proficient with project and development management tools (Procore, scheduling software, financial tracking tools, etc.).

Preferred

Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Real Estate Development, or a related field.

Experience delivering hyperscale or large multi‑phase data center campuses.

Professional certifications such as PMP, CCM, or PE (asset, not required).
