We are seeking a compassionate and experienced candidate for the role of Psychiatrist to join our Behavioral Health Team. The Psychiatrist will be responsible for assessing patients, diagnosing or ruling out mental disorders, prescribing treatments and conducting regular follow-up appointments to monitor the patient\'s progress. The Psychiatrist will provide behavioral health treatment for a wide-variety psychiatric disorders and help with all aspects of patient care including diagnosis, treatment, collaboration and consultations. Assessing patients through interviews, observations, tests and medical history reviews. Diagnosing patients accurately. Developing comprehensive treatment plans and prescribing medication as needed. Consulting with other medical professionals and psychologists. Regularly following up with the patient to check progress and adjust the treatment plan as needed. Thoroughly documenting each patient\'s diagnosis, symptoms, medication, treatment effectiveness, etc. Providing patient with emotional support and strategies to help manage their disorder. Researching new developments in psychiatry and mental health. Provides coverage for other providers after hours or when away. Complies with applicable policies and procedures and supports the Compliance Program. Contributes to organizational operations by performing other duties as may be required. Completion of a Psychiatric Residency or a Family Medicine/Psychiatry Residency in an ACGME approved residency program Valid NY state medical license as MD or DO Active NY DEA Registration 2 years\' experience working full-time as a psychiatrist in child/adult psychiatry Willing to work with children, a plus Board of Psychiatry certification Excellent verbal and written communication Superior listening ability and emotional intelligence Expert diagnostic skills Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations Ability to establish/maintain effective working relationships with patients, families, and other members of the health care team Eligible to Work in the US Apply Today
