Java Developer – Heavy DevOps (Onsite, South Norwalk CT)
A confidential client in the security-focused software space is seeking a
hands‑on Java Developer with strong DevOps expertise
to join their engineering team. This organization is building a suite of Zero Trust products and secure mobile/desktop applications, with the first major iOS release imminent and several follow‑on components already in development.
This is a high‑impact hire working directly with the technical leadership team on core backend services, cloud infrastructure, secure storage frameworks, and new product iterations. Ideal for someone who thrives in a small, fast‑moving environment, loves deep technical challenges, and wants to own significant architecture decisions.
Responsibilities
Develop and enhance
Java server‑side components
supporting multiple security‑driven applications.
Build and manage a
containerized cloud environment
using Kubernetes and AWS (Azure acceptable).
Implement multi‑threaded Java services, messaging components, and high‑performance backend systems.
Own CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, reliability engineering, and cloud orchestration.
Contribute to architecture, performance tuning, and secure backend framework development.
Collaborate closely with technical leadership to iterate on new features and expand existing product capabilities.
Work fully onsite in
South Norwalk, CT
as part of a small engineering team.
Required Experience
Strong Java engineering background and significant DevOps experience
Deep DevOps expertise with solid Java programming capability
Hands‑on experience with:
Containerization
(Docker, orchestration tooling)
Multi‑threading, messaging, concurrency
in Java
CI/CD pipelines and automation
Cloud infrastructure and observability tooling
Familiarity with secure application design, encryption, or Zero Trust principles is a plus.
Comfort working directly with senior technical stakeholders in a high‑ownership environment.
Must be able to work onsite 5 days per week in South Norwalk
Highly intelligent, low‑ego, deeply technical.
Strong problem‑solving skills and ownership mentality.
