What you’ll do The Enterprise Information Systems team is on a mission to improve how our customers learn about our product, navigate our website throughout the sales and fulfillment funnel, and quickly receive their home security system. As a Software Engineer II you’ll help shape the future of our e‑commerce codebase by focusing on developer experience, long‑term engineering vision, and building solutions that directly impact the day‑to‑day operations of our e‑commerce, operations, and customer service teams.

Champion developer experience and work with engineers and stakeholders to identify and streamline pain points and frictions in our development processes.

Use the best tools for the job; create right‑sized, tested, and reliable services to meet the needs of customers and co‑workers.

Drive improvements in our CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks to minimize deployment friction and maintain high code quality.

Work with e‑commerce stakeholders on new features and service integrations throughout the sales funnel.

Develop and maintain backend services and APIs that integrate with a variety of internal and external platforms.

Write clear, detailed documentation and conduct knowledge‑sharing sessions to champion platform best practices throughout the engineering organization.

About You

2+ years of industry experience.

Knowledge of REST, GraphQL, and modern web technologies.

Demonstrated experience with frontend implementations in modern web frameworks (e.g., Remix, React Router, Next.js) and rendering strategies (e.g., SSR, CSR, SSG).

Experience or strong interest in developer tooling, shared service development, and contributing to the technical foundation of a shared codebase.

Experience designing and implementing backend services, building APIs for others to consume.

Comfort participating in code reviews, writing documentation, and architecting and presenting software solutions.

Familiarity building and running scalable, fault‑tolerant cloud‑based microservices using AWS, Azure, or GCP.

Comfortable with working on CI/CD workflows and improving development processes.

Agile team experience with a desire to help the team and an interest in continuous delivery of high‑quality software.

Passion, curiosity, and a desire to continuously learn, challenge yourself, and grow your skills.

Asks questions, listens to feedback, and provides support to colleagues to ensure the best ideas and solutions are delivered.

Nice to Have Skills

E‑commerce experience.

Understanding of React patterns including Suspense, Server Components, and the Virtual DOM.

Experience with Commercetools or Contentful.

Knowledge of functional programming concepts.

Automation testing experience with tools like Playwright.

Infrastructure as code and DevOps experience such as Terraform or CDK.

Knowledge of containerization including Docker, Kubernetes, or ECS.

Experience with Node.js frameworks such as NestJS.

On‑call and internal employee support experience.

The target annual base pay range for this role is $93,800 to $137,600. Beyond base pay, we offer a Total Rewards package that may include participation in an annual bonus program, equity, and other forms of compensation, in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and lifestyle benefits.
