Role Description Arcadis is seeking a Project Water/Wastewater Pipeline Engineer to join our dynamic Water Business Line. In this role, you will lead and support the planning, design, and construction of water and wastewater pipeline projects for municipal, utility, and private sector clients.
Role Accountabilities
Lead and manage the design and delivery of pipeline projects, from feasibility studies to construction support.
Develop alignment studies, perform hydraulic calculations, and prepare detailed design drawings and specifications.
Act as a technical point of contact for clients, attend meetings, and support business development activities.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including civil, structural, environmental, and construction management professionals.
Ensure deliverables meet Arcadis quality standards, client expectations, and regulatory requirements.
Identify opportunities for process improvements, value engineering, and integration of digital solutions such as BIM, GIS, and hydraulic modeling tools.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in civil or mechanical engineering (or related discipline)
6-12 years of relevant experience in the design and delivery of water and/or wastewater pipeline projects
Professional Engineer (PE) license in California, or ability to obtain within 6 months
Proficiency with design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and hydraulic modeling tools (e.g., InfoWater, WaterGEMS, SewerGEMS)
Strong technical writing, verbal communication, and organizational skills
Proven experience coordinating with public agencies, utilities, and permitting authorities
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in civil or mechanical engineering
Experience with trenchless technologies, condition assessment, and rehabilitation of pipelines
Experience supporting or leading construction administration
Background in sustainability, climate resilience, and integration of digital tools (e.g., BIM 360, ArcGIS)
Active involvement in professional organizations (e.g., ASCE, AWWA, WEF)
